These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the RecText website, mobile applications, and platform (collectively, the "Service"), operated by RecText Technologies, Inc. ("RecText," "we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between the ages of 13 and 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for any subscription charges incurred. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
2. Use of the Service
RecText provides tools designed to support exam preparation, clinical reasoning practice, and study organization for nursing and healthcare students, and related educational purposes. You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
3. Subscription Plans & Billing
Free Trial
New individual accounts receive a free trial (currently 7 days, or until certain usage limits are reached, whichever comes first). No payment method is required to start a free trial.
Paid Subscriptions
Paid plans (monthly or annual) are billed in advance through our payment processor, Stripe, and automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled before the renewal date. You authorize us to charge your chosen payment method for all applicable fees.
Cancellation & Refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time; access continues through the end of the current billing period. Except where required by applicable law, fees already paid are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods.
Price Changes
We may change subscription pricing from time to time. We will provide reasonable notice of any price increase before it applies to your next billing cycle.
4. School & Institutional Licensing
Schools and institutions may license the Service for their students under a separate agreement. Institutional access is typically granted through a verified invite code tied to a specific enrollment agreement and seat limit. Faculty and authorized administrators may access aggregate and individual student performance data solely to support academic advising, consistent with our Privacy Policy and any applicable institutional agreement.
5. Beta & Preview Features
Some features may be offered as part of a beta or preview program. Beta features are provided "as is," may be experimental, and may change or be discontinued at any time. By using beta features, you acknowledge they may contain bugs or incomplete functionality, and that feedback you provide may be used to improve the Service.
6. Your Content
You retain ownership of documents, notes, and other materials you upload to the Service ("User Content"). By uploading User Content, you grant RecText a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, and display that content solely as necessary to provide the features you request (such as conversion, translation, summarization, or flashcard generation). We do not claim ownership of your User Content and do not use it to train models for other customers.
7. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
Certain content — including practice questions, clinical simulation scenarios, pharmacology monographs, and document summaries — is generated or assisted by artificial intelligence systems. While we maintain a human content-review process, AI-assisted content may occasionally contain errors or inaccuracies. This content is intended to support study and exam preparation only; it is not a substitute for your official curriculum, licensing-exam blueprint, or clinical judgment. Practice scores do not guarantee outcomes on any official examination.
8. User Responsibilities
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to access accounts, systems, or data without authorization
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the question bank or underlying software
- Distribute malware or otherwise interfere with the Service's operation
- Share your account credentials or subscription access with individuals not covered by your plan
9. Intellectual Property
All platform content, software, branding, and technology — excluding your own User Content — are owned by RecText or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written permission.
10. Copyright Complaints (DMCA)
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, please send a notice to support@rectext.com including a description of the copyrighted work, the material you believe infringes it, and your contact information. We will respond in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
11. Disclaimer
RecText provides educational tools only. The Service does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and is not a substitute for professional clinical judgment or your institution's official curriculum. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RecText will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including reliance on any exam result, practice score, or AI-generated content.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or abusive behavior, or for other legitimate business reasons, with notice where practicable.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, unless otherwise required by the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your jurisdiction.
15. Severability & Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any applicable institutional agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and RecText regarding the Service.
16. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
